I went to a wedding on Saturday and had a pretty good time catching up with my cousins and other family members.
I met a Cambodian guy who flew in from Australia, and it turns out he works in fashion design and spends a lot of his work time touching up designs in photoshop. He went to AUT and gave me some advice about the different fields in design, which was pretty cool. Too bad I couldn't remember his name, but it's great to see other Cambos are making a living through design in this lifetime.
Daayum!! Our magazine just got hacked to bits by them Wintec dudes! At least it gives us a better perspective on the project, and a better direction on where we're going with this. This just means our magazine is going to be LEGIT AZ!!!!
So today, myself and the web crew have to come up with as many questions as possible to ask the Website Designer coming in on Friday. The reason why, is because we need serious help with the website which was meant to be up weeks ago. It's kinda hard when the School Network blocks so much stuff
(eg. Domains4less > Control Panel > Site Builder *BLOCKED*).
We've tried using free site builders..... didn't work out too well since Lia ended up making her own website.
This is my final, for my assignment. We basically had to take some kind of aspect or inspiration from our artist's work. I decided to take inspiration from Christian Pearce's "99 Deadly Sleds" and I ended up with this. I call it "Just 6 Sweet Rides" because it was the first thing that popped into my mind, probably because I watched too much Pimp My Ride when I was younger...
I sketched all of these which took 2-3 hours to do for each one. They were all A4 sized pieces of artwork.
Well it's not really a legit face to face interview, but it's by email and it's better than nothing :D Christian Pearce seems like a really cool bloke and what's even better is that he went to Fraser!
I'm surprised at the shit I come up with when Playstation Network is down hahaha! I originally made this on Photoshop for my PS3 using a bunch of images I've taken over the years. (Gran Turismo 5's advance in-game camera)
I finally got my ID photo, turns out it wasn't that bad. It could've been worse, like last year where the photographer made me super-orange, instead of brown with a tint of yellow in which I am lol! At least I can see how my hair style has changed over the past 4 years at Fraser hahaha!
So this week we have our first legit assignment for producing artwork, where we have to take any aspect of our artists' work or method/style and use it to influence our own artwork.
We have to come up with a series of artwork which relate to each other.
Christian Pearce's Deadly Sleds
I'm thinking about doing something like Christian Pearce's '99 Deadly Sleds' however with more modern cars and making mine slightly more realistic. I might do some pre-sketching with pencil before I scan it into the computer and start working on it digitally.... Let's Get Started!
