This morning, first period, I thought I had Art Project.... so I was chillin' there for about 10 min until the teacher pointed out that I was meant to be in my other subject!
I was like "OH CRAP!" and so I gapped it, ran to my other class, ended up being late. But in the end the teacher didn't really mind, probs coz I'm a "White Shirt"..... YEAH! RESPECT!!! hahaha!

Artists Interviews
There are many well-established New Zealand artists out there and our job as a class, is to find & research 2-3 artists per person (well that's like 40-60 different artists right there! :O).
The 2 artists I have chosen to conduct an interview with are Christian Pearce and Tim Wilson, just coz.... I find their work.... AMAZING!
Christian Pearce is a designer who works at WETA down in Wellington:

Tim Wilson is a landscape painter who is based in Christchurch:

I've sent emails out to the artists and now awaiting for a reply.... wish me luck!
(Hope I didn't send the email to the wrong address like someone in my class :L js.)

Magazine/Website Name Decision
Over the past week we have been brainstorming a huge variety of names for our magazine/website we are designing.
A few examples we came up with were: BAZINGA!, Project VI, Vision, INITIAL, Abstract, Spurt & many more crazy & generic stuff like this.
Sadly most of our ideas were already taken.... and we had to come up with something that was timeless, something that would never get old no matter how much you say it.
So after a few days we have narrowed our ideas down to "Chur"and "Passionfruit".
"Chur"is a kiwi saying that has been around for a very long time and still many of us say it today. It is short & catchy, however people from other countries may not understand the term.
"Passionfruit" on the other hand, means "the fruit of our passion as art students". It's a somewhat random yet meaningful name, and it is our most likely choice for our magazine/website at the moment.
So what do you guys think? "Chur" or "Passionfruit"?

Classroom Makeover!
So over the past week....
The classroom aka "Project 6" (unofficial name for now) is looking pretty damn good at the moment! Considering before we started working on it, it looked like a complete crap hole.... can I say that? Oh well....
We've painted most of the classroom, sanded & painted the tables bright colours. Why? Just because we're art students and we like artsy stuff. We also set up some shelves and put up hooks in "THE CAVE" so we can hang up our stuff so it doesn't get in the way.... almost tripped over my bag, oh yeah nice one Nux! Still haven't gotten used to hanging my bag up lol.
I helped lower the bench in The Cave which was a pain because you could barely see anything. The natural light only had one place to go through....which was....the door! Hence why our little cubbyhole is called "THE CAVE".
I also helped set up the desks for the iMacs which took a long time because we had positioned the desk at the wrong height. I ended up having to do a lot of uhhh.... screwing and yes, it is what it seems.
I did a bit of fancy balancing on the ladder, waving my arms around trying to paint the undercoat where our inspirational quote would be; "We only succeed, if we all succeed". Don't worry I was being pretty safe, at least I kinda overcame my fear of heights in the process. It wasn't even that high to be honest lol.

Art Project
Hey I'm Sarathonux. I'm 17 & I am taking part in an Art Project at Fraser High School where I will be making a magazine with other students. At the moment our task is to redesign our classroom on a budget of $500. Let's see how well this will turn out....
